The Disciples Leader is responsible for all the activities of the group (5 to 8 disciples) and for the good order of the Disciples Group meeting.
- acts as an older brother/sister to each disciple.
- maintains strong and loving personal relationships with each disciple.
- gets help from the Shepherd for the disciples when needed.
- helps each disciple to be fully situated into his/her own group and DOJ Ministry.
- provides spiritual guidance by calling each disciple every week in the areas of growth, righteousness and good order: how they are in their personal prayer life, reading the Bible, family situations/family prayer meetings, marriage relationships, any problem, and many others. Are they praying for family, parish renewal and DOJ Ministry?
- supports the life in DOJ Ministry and the decision of the Pastoral Team.
- does not use any meeting to express his/her disagreements with the DOJ Ministry or the Pastoral Team. In case of such disagreements, he/she brings this up to his/her Shepherd.
- disciples the members of their group to be like Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit: helps them know their gifts and equips them to use their gifts and practice them in the ministry.
- evangelizes new members to a commitment to Jesus.
- follows the leader’s duties listed in the Training manual for prayer group leaders.
- attends the following meetings:
- Once a week: Disciples Group meeting.
- Once a month: DOJ Ministry General Assembly (led by the Servant Director)
- Once a month: All leaders meeting (led by the Servant Director)
The role of the Assistant Disciples Leader: Assume the duties of Disciples Leader in his/her absence.
