- Each leader will be assigned a number that will correspond to a group with the same number.
- A flag will designate the group with a number on it.
- The leader should go to their group and locate their group packet which will contain: registration form, pen, and handouts
- The leader should also have their Discussion Guide Folder with them to help them in leading the discussion after the talks.
- Find your nametag on the table in the entryway, then greet the participants as they come into your group and be sure they have a nametag also.
- If you have an assistant leader, have them register each person in the group by filling out the registration form completely and legibly.
- If your group is meeting at the back of the church, please bring the participants closer to the front of the church for the teachings and testimonies.
- After the songs, return to your assigned station for group discussion.
Role of the Discussion Group Leader
- Lead the discussion group after the teaching
- Help and encourage the participants
- Get to know each participant in your group by name and establish a personal relationship with them
- Encourage each participant in your group to share and to listen carefully to them, and always responding to them in a loving way
- Understand the goal of each teaching and try to help participants understand the message
- Facilitate the discussion and keep it on the subject and being careful not to dominate
- Avoid any negative, critical or judgmental remarks
- Keep confidential anything shared in the group and remind others to do so
- Seek help on advice from the LSS leaders for any unresolved problems
- Keep a copy of the registration form to be able to keep in touch with group members and encourage them to come to the next session of the LSS.
- At the end of the LSS, encourage participation in a prayer group
- Pray for the seminar and the participants. Do a spiritual warfare on their behalf. Fast and pray for them.
- Follow-up regularly with your people during the week to ensure that they understood the teaching and/or daily reading. If it is needed, meet with them for further discussions. Contact those who had missed the previous talks and get together with them for a make-up session.
